Social Media Content & Engagement Lead Job Description



We are seeking an ambitious and creative individual to lead the Content & Engagement Team with creation of all social media content across various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube. As the Social Media Content and Engagement Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Hays Travel’s online presence, enhancing audience engagement, and driving growth through compelling content.

You will lead the entire content planning process, from curating the content calendar to ensuring consistent creation of captivating activity and managing paid advertising campaigns. Staying at the forefront of social media trends, you will infuse new ideas into the social media strategy, continually innovating to maintain our edge. You will inspire and empower team members to think creatively to push the boundaries of our social media presence. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you will creatively devise and execute partnership plans tailored to the target audiences and overarching objectives,

In this varied role, you will work closely with the Social Media Operations team, working collaboratively to achieve an effective social media strategy.


Competences / Qualifications

*        Minimum 2 years of successful Social Media experience driving engagement and growth

*       Comprehensive working knowledge of various Social Media platforms

*        Passion for staying current with the latest social media trends and industry updates

*        Experience in managing and optimizing paid social media campaigns

*        Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas concisely and influentially

*       Strong organisational skills and ability to act on initiative and prioritise the team’s workload

*       Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail

*       Experience of confidently presenting to varied audience sizes

*        Demonstrated ability to lead and coach successful teams

*       Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop a growing team

*        Experience of working in fast-paced environments, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines under pressure


Specific Duties

*        Lead the management of all social media content and audience expansion, aligning closely with overarching business goals to drive acquisition and deepen engagement

*        Craft comprehensive style guidelines for content creation, fostering engagement and ensuring consistent adherence to the brand's identity and tone of voice

*        Inspire, empower and develop the content team to innovate and experiment with new tactics, continuously enhancing social media performance

*        Manage high-volumes of diverse paid social media advertising campaigns. Overseeing the budget allocation, audience targeting, and thorough performance tracking

*        Analyse social media metrics to inform and optimise strategies and campaigns

*        Stay informed of travel industry trends, ensuring our social media strategies are responsive to evolving market landscapes

*        Stay ahead of the curve with emerging social media trends, new channels, and best practices. Challenge existing strategies and adopt a culture of ongoing testing and learning to enhance performance

*        Conduct regular competitor analysis to ensure Hays Travel remains at the forefront of consumer awareness and engagement

*        Lead meetings with various business divisions and deliver impactful proposals that effectively communicate the value and potential of social media initiatives

*        Liaise with the wider team and various business areas to effectively deliver partnership activity and key business campaigns

*        Collaborate with broader marketing teams to seamlessly integrate and align social media activities into the overarching digital strategy

*        Work closely with the internal creative department to develop compelling social media assets, including engaging video content that resonates with our target audience.
