Job description
We are looking for a dynamic and highly organized Retail Communications Manager to lead and manage all internal communications to our retail teams. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and delivering clear, engaging, and timely communications on a daily and weekly basis to ensure our teams are well-informed, aligned, and motivated. You’ll serve as the key link between the head office and stores, driving consistency, clarity, and connection across all levels of retail operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all retail communications across the business, including daily updates, weekly newsletters, operational notices, and leadership messaging.
- Plan and own the retail communications calendar, ensuring messaging is aligned with business priorities and trading needs.
- Write, edit, and proofread high-quality communications that are clear, concise, and on-brand for store teams and field leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with key departments (e.g. Marketing, Commercial, HR, Operations) to gather relevant content and ensure timely distribution.
- Manage internal communication tools/platforms (such as hub) and work to continuously improve their impact and usability.
- Track and measure communication effectiveness through feedback loops, engagement metrics, and store-level insights.
- Act as the voice of the retail team, championing clarity, context, and connection in all communications.
- Support change management initiatives, ensuring clear messaging during times of transformation, launches, or organizational updates.
Requirements
- Proven experience in internal communications, retail operations, or similar communication-focused role (ideally within a multi-site retail environment).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for turning complex information into clear, actionable messaging.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident stakeholder manager and collaborator, able to influence and build relationships at all levels.
- Comfortable using digital tools and platforms to disseminate and track communications.
- Highly proactive and adaptable, with a keen understanding of retail environments and what store teams need to succeed.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in retail communications or internal comms for a distributed workforce.
- Familiarity with communication tools like Microsoft Teams, SharePoint or retail-specific platforms
- Background in journalism, PR, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
