Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join our in-house payroll team. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, with a strong understanding of staff benefits administration. This role requires accuracy, discretion, and an ability to work independently while maintaining confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and administer monthly company payrolls ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records, including changes to salary, deductions, benefits, and tax and National Insurance.
- Administer and support employee benefits programs, including health insurance, company cars and pensions.
- Ensure timely and accurate deductions and contributions related to employee benefits.
- Respond to payroll and benefits-related queries from employees and management, providing clear and professional communication.
- Process payroll-related paperwork, including tax filings, year-end documentation (e.g., P60s, P11Ds, PAYE Settlement Agreements), and compliance reports.
- Stay updated on relevant payroll and benefits legislation to ensure compliance with all applicable laws.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and any other ad hoc payroll or benefits-related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience (1-3 years) in payroll administration, with a solid understanding of payroll processes.
- Experience with employee benefits administration (e.g., health insurance, car leasing and pension schemes, etc.) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with payroll software.
- Confident with Microsoft Excel and formulas.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and best practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
