An exciting opportunity to join our Technical department in a junior position based between Leechmere & Sunderland City Centre on a rotational basis working in our hands-on IT Technical department supporting over 1000 sites nationally. The role involves supporting a wide array of ICT related issues, primarily hands on however some remote support required. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate starting out in IT, who is willing to develop themselves with the right aptitude & hardworking ethic to pursue a career in IT with many overlaps into all areas of ICT.

We are responsible for the management & maintenance of over 4000 computers nationwide, and networks across over 400 retail branches, a large head office & a large homeworking division.

Whilst mainly hardware focused & ‘hands on’ there is still a good level of software support required, working closely in tandem with the IT Helpdesk & all over areas of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical IT queries, including but not limited to printing, firewall, hardware, software, LAN/WAN, DNS and routing issues with a focus on hardware solutions
  • Supported rollout and management of new hardware, & supporting software teams with upgrades/patches.
  • Management of Azure AD & on-prem Active Directory Users & Computers & associated technologies
  • Remote support of switching / routers / hardware / WiFi & CCTV solutions
  • Driving license preferred due to regular ongoing sites visits required for installation / fixes

Technical Skills Desired

  • Hand on experience of Microsoft Windows 10
  • A good understanding of ICT hardware, & preferably software, troubleshooting

 

As a junior position on-the-job training will be provided in addition to more opportunities to train for professional qualifications in the relevant areas. Proof of basic understanding or technologies is more desirable then time-served experience or qualifications gained.
