Job description
This role encompasses;
Working within a team involved in the financial processing and retrospective review of holiday bookings.
Audit of customer holiday bookings and branch procedures.
Reviewing ledgers and ensuring travel bookings and accounting records are accurate and associated reporting has financial integrity.
Managing risk on travel bookings and financial processes in line with group policies.
Reviewing transactions within our selling systems and analysing and reporting any findings.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and correct incorrect holiday bookings and drive root cause improvements.
- Manage the risk on travel bookings by following the business policies.
- Comply with the department and business policies surrounding finance.
- Perform a programme of Internal Audit procedures over a 12 month period.
- Gain full understanding of the different trading divisions within the group and their working practices.
- Support business divisions and provide feedback to improve quality and accuracy of the financial records.
- Ensure compliance in line with Package Travel Regulations and produce monthly summaries detailing review findings.
- Travel Insurance administration and queries.
- Monitoring of outstanding balances and insufficient funds
- Assisting with queries following a supplier failure
- Reviewing and submitting insurance claims for Supplier/airline failure cover, cruise protection travel cover and travel disruption cover
- Highlight discrepancies/concerns and or risk to Team Leader where branches are being non-compliant
- Support the wider finance department with other procedures where additional capacity is required.
- Reconciling Trust funds
Competencies Required

- In depth knowledge of Hays Travel booking process.

- Excellent reporting and reconciliation skills

- Ability to prioritise to ensure deadlines are met
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent administration and time management skills
- A team player with an enthusiastic approach
- Being flexible in an ever changing department
Technical Skills Required
- Ability to manipulate large volumes of data using VLOOKUP, logical formulas and pivot tables
- Advanced knowledge of the selling systems and accounting systems.
- Appetite to learn about reporting on Power BI
General
- To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria
