Job description

As a People Advisor, you’ll play a key role in shaping an engaging and positive workplace—supporting our teams from hire to retire! Working closely with our People Partners and relevant stakeholders, you’ll help drive a culture where employees feel valued, motivated, and supported, all while living and breathing our SMILE values.

The HR Advisor will provide support to the People Partners for dedicated business areas as they oversee all employee relations practices and processes to ensure alignment with Company goals.

 

Working 37.5 hours a week,

Monday - Friday

 

Main Responsibilities

Support Managers & People Partners – Provide first-line advice on HR matters, including absence, conduct, performance, and employee relations

 

Drive People Solutions – Help shape and implement people strategies that align with business goals and support workforce needs

 

Employee Relations & Case Management – Assist with disciplinary, grievance, TUPE, redundancy, and dismissal processes as and when required

 

Data & Insights – Support People Partners in compiling HR metrics to track performance and engagement

 

Training & Development – Help deliver training on company policies and employment legislation

 

Policies & Compliance – Ensure policies align with best practices, company objectives, and employment law

 

Flexible & Proactive Approach – Work remotely as needed, with a strong presence at Head Office and the ability to travel to other locations

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Someone who is keen to learn and understand employee relations and best practices

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to build relationships and influence managers

  • Attention to detail and confidence in navigating Microsoft Office applications

  • A passion for creating a positive workplace culture

Qualifications

  • Good basic standard of education, 4 GCSE’s or equivalent Grade C or above including English and Maths

  • CIPD would be an advantage but not essential

  • Willing to work towards qualifications to assist with their own personal development

Skills and Experience

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines

  • Ability to prioritise workload

  • Ability to work on own initiative

  • Attention to detail

  • Clean driving licence

  • Confidentiality

  • Ability to work solely and as a member of a team

  • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relations both internally and externally
