Job description

 

The Head of Marketing will be an integral part of the Senior Management team who will make a significant contribution to the business.

The core responsibility of this role is to lead the overall strategy and success of our marketing activity, including but not limited to all aspects of internal and external marketing including content marketing and overall brand management.  You will be responsible for developing firm relationships with key areas of the business to develop and deliver a fully integrated marketing strategy to promote higher profitability and competitiveness.

 

Competencies Required

  • Experience of developing and managing a marketing budget to ensure goals and objectives for marketing activity are met.
  • Staying abreast of current market conditions and trends and incorporate new innovations in the market.
  • Ideally has experience in brand marketing, delivering impactful and visually attractive campaigns across touchpoints to drive sales.
  • Able to demonstrate through previous campaigns/work their ability to drive brand awareness and improve business performance.
  • Broad commercial awareness and acumen – clearly understand how all the sum of the parts drive business performance.
  • Lead a team to deliver best in class collateral including but not limited to consumer brochures
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the need for a strong external PR presence and the consistency of messaging.
  • Consistently develops themselves and their team to be aware of the latest trends and have an exceptional awareness of the latest market opportunities in our sector
  • Ideally has experience in a Retail environment (travel ideal, but not essential). Ability to support our retail and homeworker divisions through campaigns designed to maximise visibility and customer attention.
  • Drives process and has the confidence to challenge the way things are done.
  • Can generate customer insights from analytics and translate them into successful brand strategy and executions.
  • Be a highly skilled communicator with strong negotiation skills with a desire to build strong, mutually beneficial business relationships.
  • Ability to work and adapt the strategy in line with business demands.
  • Be able to prioritise effectively and deliver within pre-agreed deadlines
  • Can interact effectively with the company Board of Directors & present at Board Meetings.
  • Be a successful participant in the Senior Management team that provides company leadership and direction.
  • Experience of managing and developing multiple direct reports
  • Be forward thinking and a team player
  • Have the ability to lead and support the development of the wider team, excellent interpersonal and coaching skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to act quickly to change and juggles conflicting demands calmly when under pressure

 

Qualifications / Experience Required

  • A marketing expert with 5+ years’ experience leading successful marketing teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field
