Job description
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Collaborate with stakeholders, understand and optimise requirements to ensure data needs deliver actionable insights.
- Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to support business reporting to meet business needs.
- Advocate data-driven decision making and share knowledge within the business.
- Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve reporting and use of data within the business.
- Design, build and maintain dashboards and reporting and its associated architecture using tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Analyse datasets, identify trends and patterns to make recommendations and support decision-making.
- Automate data processes and improve reporting workflows.
- Work as part of the Hays Travel Data team, and contribute to the delivery of data projects
What competencies we are looking for?
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and pivot tables
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms
- Attention to detail, accuracy and analytical mindset
- Problem solving skills
- Effective time management and prioritisation
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
What experience we are looking for?
- Experience using data warehouse / Lakehouse and Cloud based technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, charts).
- Experience in data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Understanding of SQL or other query languages.
- Awareness of data governance, protection and confidentiality principles.
Desirables but not Essential
- Computing Science, Mathematics or Data degree
