An exciting opportunity to join our travel ledger team within our Finance Department based on our head office in Sunderland.

 

The role encompasses working within a team involved in the financial transactional processing and audit of customer holiday bookings. Reviewing the trade ledgers and ensuring bookings and accounting records are accurate and associated reporting has financial integrity while managing risk on travel bookings in line with group policies.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify & correct incorrect holiday bookings & drive root cause improvements.
  • Manage the risk on travel bookings and ensuring branches and travel partner adhere to company policies.
  • Comply with the department and business policies associated with the Travel ledger role.
  • Gain full understanding of the different trading divisions within the group and their working practices.

 

Competencies Required

  • Target focussed with the ability to meet challenging but realistic targets.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, prioritising workload using effective time management skills
  • Problem solving skills in order to offer solutions
  • Capable of demonstrating excellent levels of attention to deal
  • Excellent communication skills, high standard of literacy and email etiquette
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Understanding of Hays Travel values and success measures, and how their role contributes and impacts this
  • Commitment to own learning and taking responsibility for self-development and seeking opportunities to learn

 

Technical Skills Required

  • Basic knowledge of computer systems i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to utilise its key functionalities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
  • File management skills
  • Web Navigation Skills

 

Qualifications/Experience required

  • English & Maths grade 4 or above

 

General

  • To be committed and dedicated to completing the customer service Apprenticeship programme within the 12 month timescale, attending all relevant training workshops
  • To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria
  • To conform with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety
  • To treat all employees, customer and suppliers with dignity and respect
