This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity working with the Property Team focusing on the company’s Sustainability Strategy based in our Head Office in Sunderland.

 

As a company we are currently working on a strategy to be net zero by 2030 with this role being the main point of contact for all sustainability-related questions.

We require someone with a pure passion for the environment with the main responsibilities including developing plans, implementing procedures and liaising with department heads to manage the companies resources to help reduce the impact it may have on the environment. You will work with relevant teams, Directors and 3rd party advisors as well as liaising with office staff to help educate them on eco-friendly practices and improve their awareness of how to reduce their own environmental impact.  You will monitor and evaluate progress, collecting feedback and refreshing policies to ensure the company remains on track for its sustainability goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings, update minutes and ensure actions are achieved in a timely manner, progressing to be the main point of contact for all sustainability-related issues.
  • Developing and maintaining documents within the business
  • Identify areas where the business could improve its sustainability practice.
  • Working with relevant teams on marketing strategies to promote the company’s sustainability project.
  • Monitoring the company’s sustainability-related data and providing feedback on the progress
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation and updating the working group where necessary.

  • Ability to build relationships including with internal departments, Director level and external advisors always providing exceptional customer service
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a busy department

Technical Skills Required

  • Basic knowledge of computer systems i.e. Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel with the ability to utilise its key functionalities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • File management skills
  • Web Navigation Skills

 

Qualifications/Experience required

  • English & Maths grade 4 or above

General

  • To be committed and dedicated to completing the customer service Apprenticeship programme within the 12 month timescale, attending all relevant training workshops
  • To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria
  • To conform with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety
  • To treat all employees, customer and suppliers with dignity and respect
