Apprentice - Finance Audit Assistant

This is an exciting apprenticeship within the finance department at Hays Travel’s Head Office in Sunderland.

The role is an integral part of the existing Exceptions and Audit team and will involve reviewing transactions within our selling systems and assisting the Audit Team Supervisor and or Manager in analysing and reporting their findings.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to work in a finance department within the Travel industry.

Below is a list of the key responsibilities which you will learn during your apprenticeship.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance in line with Package Travel Regulations
• Producing monthly summaries detailing review findings
• Travel Insurance amendments and queries
• Monitoring of outstanding balances and insufficient funds
• Assisting with queries following a supplier failure.
• Reviewing and submitting insurance claims for Supplier/airline failure cover, cruise protection cover & travel disruption insurance
• Any other duties/reports that fall within the department
• Highlight discrepancies/concerns and or risk to Supervisor/Manager where branches  are being non-compliant
• Participate in other ad-hoc duties or prepare ad-hoc information where required

Technical Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of computer systems i.e. Microsoft Word and Excel with the ability to utilise its key functionalities
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
• File management skills
• Web Navigation Skills

Qualifications/Experience required

• Ideally 4 GCSE’s grade 4 or above (or equivalent) including English & Maths

General

• To be committed and dedicated to completing the customer service Apprenticeship programme within the 12 month timescale, attending all relevant training workshops
• To undertake any other duties that may fall into the job criteria
• To conform with all company policies and procedures including Health and Safety
• To treat all employees, customer and suppliers with dignity and respect
