Job description
Role Purpose
The Air Product Manager is responsible for managing and optimising the company’s flight product across multiple distribution channels. This includes supporting pricing strategy, maintaining competitive air content, and driving commercial performance through strong airline partnerships and data-led decision making. Working closely with internal teams, this role ensures consistent product quality and supports the growth of in-house flight sales across retail, tour operation, contact centre, and digital channels.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Performance & Airline Relationships
- Negotiate and manage airline commercial agreements, including fares and marketing contributions
- Drive in-house flight-only sales performance.
- Monitor flight sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and margin.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with supplier partners.
- Manage commercial MI for air products covering fare competitiveness, third party sales, override performance and flight sales.
Flight Product Management
- Ensure flight product across GDS, NDC, LCC and consolidator channels, is accurate, competitive, and aligned to commercial objectives.
- Monitor flight content across all sales channels.
- Deliver product knowledge and support supplier training to internal teams to drive confidence and sales effectiveness.
Systems & Digital Integration
- Manage GDS optimisation initiatives that deliver improved efficiency, accuracy, and sector credit returns.
- Support improvements to distribution systems and processes.
- Ensure alignment between product, pricing, and system functionality.
Data, MI & Performance Insight
- Produce and analyse reporting on pricing, sales performance, competitiveness, and override income.
- Identify trends and provide recommendations to improve commercial outcomes.
- Support tracking of key metrics such as margin, pricing accuracy, and sales mix.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Support delivery of changes, including communication and training relating to flight product, distribution, fulfilment, and booking behaviour.
Help ensure teams are informed and aligned on product updates and best practices.
Champion consistent knowledge and capability across retail, homeworkers, contact centres, brands and digital.
Work collaboratively with Operations, Commercial, Marketing, Finance and Customer teams.
Financial Governance Responsible for:
Managing override negotiations and tracking performance
Maintaining competitive and accurate pricing
Monitoring supplier performance and commercial outcomes
Conducting price accuracy checks and audits

Experience & Skills
- Extensive experience in commercial roles with air products in the aviation or travel industry.
- Knowledge of GDS systems (Travelport, Amadeus, Sabre), consolidator/aggregator/airline APIs and BSP/IATA processes with Edifact, NDC, Low Cost Carrier fares.
- Strong analytical capability and financial acumen (overrides, sector credits, ancillaries, cost‑to‑serve) with the ability to use insights to support commercial negotiations and clear strategic action.
- Change management and colleague enablement for large retail/homeworker networks and B2B tour operations.
- Proven track record of delivering airline commercial growth.
- Experience managing people.
- Ability to manage multi-channel sales growth (retail, contact centre, digital).
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
- Accuracy in managing flight data and commercial agreements.
- Self-motivated with a can-do attitude, consistently bringing initiatives to the role.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to build rapport quickly and effectively.
